He already had the piece of wood picked out. A piece of Live Oak that he cut down himself (for a client) at the top of the ridge in Woodacre. He had to climb 50ft up the tree and chainsaw it down, piece by piece. He was able to keep the wood from the project. Once milled, he discovered that this tree had been struck by lightening, creating a beautiful, black scar throughout the interior. |
Now we have our mantle, built by Bruce, from a tree that lived just up the road from us. Though we ignored other projects to get it done, It has been the perfect addition, especially before the holidays, so we could hang our Christmas stockings. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! |

Though Covid-19 upended many normal seasonal trends this year, the market did begin its typical “holiday season” slowdown in November - however activity remained well above levels of last year. It is unknown how the latest pandemic circumstances may affect the market in December, which is usually by far the slowest month of the year.
Market activity as measured by the number of listings going into contract, though dropping in November - as is the normal seasonal trend - was significantly higher on a year-over-year basis: 37% higher than in November 2019. If you'd like more detailed information by county, please click here. |
